QUINCY, Plumas County — October 26, 2026. A community workshop focused on the future of Quincy and East Quincy will take place Tuesday, October 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Veterans Hall in Quincy. Plumas County and Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) are inviting residents, business owners and local organizations to review the near-final Recreation Economy for Rural Communities (RERC) Community Action Plan 2.0.

Five areas residents can help put into action

The updated plan is organized around outdoor recreation, collaboration with Tribal communities, downtown revitalization and beautification, business and economic development, and workforce housing and lodging. These topics respond to practical challenges shared by many rural towns: attracting visitors without losing the character of a community, finding enough workforce housing, and supporting independent local businesses.

Plumas officials are asking participants not only to comment on the updated plan but to help form groups that can implement projects. The event is open to people who have followed the program for years and those hearing about it for the first time.

How to participate

County materials point to a registration form for the October 27 collaborative convening; check the county RERC project page for any update or form link. For event questions, the county names Community Outreach Coordinator Brianna Swofford at 530-283-7070.

The meeting is a planning and participation session, not an announcement that every project is funded or already underway. Read future agendas and action updates before assigning costs or completion dates.
